RMIT University Library is a creative partner in the achievement of the University's teaching, learning and research goals and works in collaboratively with Units across the University to achieve those goals.

The Library comprises three principal Library sites at Swanston Street, Bundoora and Carlton, as well as a library service at Bundoora East and at the Brunswick Campus. This role is based at the Bundoora campus.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

The major focus of this position is to undertake rostered service point activities (including Ask A Librarian chat and email services), coordinate administrative activities in support of lending operations, and assist with the provision of information services.

This position may be required to work at more than one library site including providing evening shift support. Rostered weekend and public holiday work and evening shifts are an essential component of Library positions.

Skills & Experience Required

In line with this role, we are seeking an energetic applicant who has experience in a customer service role within a relevant library service. The candidate should show a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team with an ability to coordinate team activities and have numeracy, written and verbal communication skills relevant to the position.

The applicant should possess a:

Degree in Library and Information Services or Diploma of Library and Information Services with at least 2 years subsequent relevant work experience. Eligibility for (Associate or Library Technician) membership of ALIA.
