Perform need analysis (Federal and Institutional methodologies) on student applications for financial assistance, and award and process all types of financial aid according to student eligibility. Counsel and advise students regarding availability, eligibility and sources of funding. Conduct Entrance and Exit, debt management, and budget counseling. Review, resolve and generate reports.
Determine eligibility for Federal Direct and Private loans and process the same keeping students within the cost of attendance budget for their school, class and year. Ensure student accounts are in good standing and actual credits are available prior to processing refunds for living expenses.
Counsel and advise students and parents on the availability and type of funding available to fund a health professions education and about the financial aid process.
Daily student assistance. Answering telephone and student visit inquiries. Researching and resolving student issues and concerns.
Award a caseload of approximately 700 students institutional and federal financial assistance. Perform need analysis on each file to determine need, and selecting the appropriate scholarship and loan funds,according to the fund restrictions and donor wishes, to meet that need.
Conduct group and individual Entrance and Exit Interview sessions covering students’ rights and responsibilities as student loan borrowers. Entrance interviews are done for each matriculating student loan borrower outlining loan terms; and Exits are conducted with each graduating student loan borrower, where students are presented with loan borrowing summaries, repayment options and strategies. Present 3-4 days per week to prospective students on interview days.
1-3 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
