Job Description

Provide leadership around developing scholarship opportunities and recruiting, vetting, and preparing applicants for national and international fellowship competitions (including but not limited to Rhodes, Marshall, Fulbright, Luce, Goldwater, Truman, Beinecke, and Udall), as well as for BUs internal university-wide scholarships (such as the Case, Melville, Clare Boothe Luce, and Moorman Simon scholarships). Work with BUs schools/colleges, departments and other academic programs to raise the visibility of these opportunities to both faculty and students, to actively recruit students to apply, and, ultimately, to establish a network of relationships with faculty and academic advisors to assure that applying for such scholarships becomes simply part of the undergraduate culture. Run a robust application procedure that involves individual guidance on application materials and mock interviews. The process of applying for these prestigious awards is an educational experience that develops students self-awareness, self-confidence, and an ability to take firm hold of possible opportunities. It will be the Directors job to articulate and assure the value of the application process. The Director will report to the Assistant Provost for Academic Affairs.

Required Skills

Candidates should hold an advanced degree and have a minimum of three years of relevant experience, preferably in a similar role. The successful candidate will have demonstrated communication skills, an ability to work independently and take initiative, experience working with students and faculty, and an ability to create and deliver effective presentations to various University audiences.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We are a VEVRAA Federal Contractor.
