The UQ School of Dentistry has a long and proud tradition of 81 years of strength in dental education and dental research, and it attracts the highest achieving students across Australia. The School has strong collaborations within and outside the profession of dentistry.

The School's clinics provide treatments to patients, some of whom are eligible for treatment within a service agreement with Queensland Health. The School has a close working relationship with Queensland Health, as well as with the Australian Dental Association and the dental profession as a whole.

The 4-chair clinic at St George runs as a satellite clinic to the Oral Health Centre and supports final year student placements for the Bachelor of Dental Science (Hons).

The Role 

The role of Satellite Senior Dental Assistant is responsible for coordinating the operations of the School of Dentistry's St George Clinic. The role contributes to patient care and student education, ensuring a high level of customer service to patients, students and other staff.

This role presents a unique opportunity for applicants who reside in St George and surrounding areas, or those wanting more experience in a rural community.

The Person

We're seeking an experienced Dental Assistant with relevant experience able to work autonomously and independently, exercising judgement and initiative when required. The position holder must have the ability to coordinate the fluctuating demands of a clinic and have well-developed interpersonal skills. Experience in a teaching, learning or instructional environment providing guidance to students and new staff in a clinical setting is desirable.


This is a full-time, fixed term position at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package for a HEW Level 5 is between $62,716 - $70,241 per annum plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total remuneration package will be in the range $73,378 - $82,182 per annum).
