Academic Quality Officer
Salary in the range £31,656 to £37,678 per annum

The University is entering an exciting period of broadening the reach of its curriculum offering by looking to develop a diverse range of activities which will include, for example, international partnerships, partnerships with FE Colleges and offering Apprenticeships and Work-based Learning opportunities.

To support the development and implementation of these initiatives, the University is seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Academic Quality Officer to join its small team of professional officers in the Academic Quality Office.  We are looking for someone who has a good grounding in core quality functions working in a Higher Education environment or similar.  You will therefore have experience of programme and collaborations approval; processes for periodic review and modifications; experience of devising and implementing academic quality policies and processes and knowledge also of implementing External Examiner requirements.

You will be hard-working and able to cope with a demanding work-load whilst retaining a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.  You will be an excellent communicator both orally and in writing enabling you to prepare reports and minutes to deadlines and build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels of the institution.  You will be happy to work flexibly to help the team deliver a high quality service to support the University in its oversight, maintenance and enhancement of academic quality and standards.

Hours of work will be 35 hours per week, normally 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday with one hour unpaid break for lunch each day.  The postholder will be expected to work flexibly and as necessary for the performance of the duties of the post, subject to a minimum of 35 hours per week.
