About the role

You will be working as part of the Centre for Alcohol Policy Research (CAPR), which is a joint undertaking of the Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE) and La Trobe University. The Centre is led by Professor Robin Room and produces research on alcohol policy formation and regulatory processes; patterns and trends in drinking and harms in the Australian population; and the influence of drinking norms, cultural practices and social contexts.

You will conduct and publish high quality research and assist with obtaining research funding from external sources. You will contribute to qualitative research across a range of existing and developing research projects within CAPR.

Skills and Experience

To succeed, you will possess:

  • Completion of a PhD with a strong research component in a relevant discipline
  • A record of publications, conference papers and/or reports
  • Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information clearly
  • High level organisational skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • The ability to liaise effectively with a range of collaborators nationally and/or internationally as well as the ability to work effectively as a team member and independently
