Position Description

The integration of primary care and oral health is a strategic focus for the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM), where several initiatives are underway to promote inter-professional training and care delivery.

HSDM seeks to fill a faculty position to assist with Inter-Professional Education on a HRSA funded grant. We seek a seasoned expert to assist with identification, dissemination and implementation of best practices in inter-professional education. The position would be 50% time on funded research in the development of inter-professional curriculum. The remaining 50% time would be divided among other scholarly activities, teaching and clinical practice, and may include participating in the HSDM initiative to integrate oral health and medicine. The academic rank will be as Instructor, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, commensurate with experience. The position will be based in the Department of Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology with a dual reporting to Interim Chair and Associate Professor, Dr. Christine Riedy, and Assistant Dean Jane Barrow.

Located in the heart of Boston’s Longwood Medical Area, the Harvard School of Dental Medicine ranks as one of the preeminent dental schools in the country. Established in 1867, HSDM was the first dental school in the United States to be connected with a university and coordinated with its medical school. HSDM is the only school within Harvard University that has its own clinical facility and provides direct patient care. HSDM’s vision is to set the standard of excellence in and to define the future of interdisciplinary dental education, state-of-the-art clinical practice, and cutting-edge basic, clinical, and translational research. With this vision as our guide, the School is dedicated to developing and fostering a community of global leaders advancing oral and systemic health.
