The International Engagement Office is responsible for building the profile of Murdoch University through extensive offshore marketing activities and developing networks, both in Australia and overseas.

The Role

Murdoch University is seeking an experienced individual for the newly created role of Regional Manager – China, which will focus specifically on enhancing and driving our student recruitment strategy in China. The creation of this role is recognition by Murdoch University of the importance of this key market for higher education. 

Working closely with the Partnership Manager and International Engagement Manager, the Regional Manager – China will take responsibility for developing a robust strategy in order to deliver high targets via an agent network. This includes taking part in Recruitment exhibitions, developing agent relationships and engagement and the training and development of our off shore Business Development managers.

Key to success in this role will be your ability to network and drive results. You will be required to travel frequently to China to facilitate new opportunities and consolidate relationships with our partners and agents.

Skills and Experience

This role will suit a driven networker, willing to put in the hard work required to rapidly develop and implement the student recruitment strategy and significantly increase the exposure and uptake of Murdoch University by students in China. The ideal applicant has significant experience in the Higher Education student recruitment field with a proven track record of success in marketing higher education institutions and will also have an established network of institutions and agents.

Along with a thorough understanding of the Chinese education system and relevant legislative frameworks, the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to interact with people from diverse nationalities, cultures and backgrounds. Skills in market research, strategic marketing and planning in a goal-focused environment are essential.  Fluency in Mandarin is required.
