The Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine is housed in a multi-million-dollar purpose built education and research facility, and is planning to capitalise on this investment through significant growth in a number of health professional programs.  To support a growth in programs and student enrolments, the Faculty is seeking to recruit to a leadership position in the specialised field of Occupational Therapy.  The position will be instrumental in the continued development and planning of the Masters of Occupational Therapy program which commenced in September 2016.

Particular responsibilities will be to ensure that the program is well informed by current best practice in Occupational Therapy incorporating a focus on both health and disability sectors and building of Bond University’s strong profile in management/business.  Within this over-arching responsibility it is expected that the successful candidate will finalise curriculum development of the program; oversee the accreditation and registration of the program with the Occupational Therapy Council and Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; build and develop strong industry connections to ensure student placement opportunities are maximised; and actively contribute to the strategic goals of the faculty. The Professor of Occupational Therapy will also be required to provide advice on resourcing requirements, effective promotion strategies as well as work with the External Engagement and Marketing team to formulate marketing and recruitment activities as they relate to the program.

About the person: 

To be considered for this position you must hold a doctoral qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline and be registered or be eligible for registration as an Occupational Therapist through the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning within Occupational Therapy, and have a strong research history evidenced by relevant publications, grant funding and HDR supervisions and completions.  You will be an exceptional communicator with the ability to build stakeholder relationships as well as supervise, mentor and support staff.

Level and salary for this appointment will be negotiated and commensurate with skills and experience and be fully competitive in the Australian market.  Salary packaging options are available.
