Western Sydney University is a large multi-campus university servicing a diverse range of students across Greater Western Sydney and internationally. As the University implements its five-year strategy Securing Success, the Business School is transforming its innovative business education programs for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. We are developing an increasingly strong research profile in international finance, financial planning and property, focused on developing research that impacts practice.
We are looking for teaching academics who can further the growing reputation of our Accounting education. The successful candidate will hold a PhD or substantial progress towards a higher degree or equivalent in a relevant area to Accounting and an Accounting professional qualification.
We are looking for an outstanding Accounting teacher, who is industry current and can take the lead in developing and delivering cutting edge Accounting courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will participate in the School’s governance committees where required and promote a collegial environment.
This position is offered as a Teaching Focused Role in accordance with Western Sydney University's Academic Staff Agreement (2014). The major objective of Teaching Focused Role positions is to provide eligible existing casual or new academic staff with the opportunity for appointment to ongoing or fixed term employment. To be eligible to apply for a Teaching Focused Role you need to have met the following criteria as detailed in the University's Academic Staff Agreement 2014 Clause 14.43 below:-
Applications for TFRs will be open to:
(a) Employees engaged in existing TFRs;
(b) internal applicants who have been engaged as a casual Employee for at least 4 teaching sessions in the preceding 3 years; or
(c) external applicants whose most recent employment by an Australian university has been as a casual, fixed-term or ongoing academic employee in that university for a period of at least 12 months and who have a demonstrated capacity to meet the current and future expectations of the TFR, including any new duties or skills that may be required, and the School’s strategic direction.
This is a full-time, ongoing appointment based at Parramatta.
Remuneration Package: Academic Level B - $111,467 to $131,532 p.a. (comprising Salary $94,191 to $111,223 p.a., plus 17% Superannuation, plus Leave Loading)
