Portfolio Manager to the Deputy Vice Chancellor: Research and Innovation
About the job
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor: Research and Innovation as Portfolio Manager, contributing to the development of strategies and initiatives to advance the University’s research and innovation agenda. This position plays a key role in building and maintaining relationships across the whole of the University, to ensure the effective development and promotion of our research and innovation agenda.
You will play a significant role in generating high level advice to the Deputy Vice Chancellor and will lead a small team. In this dynamic senior role you will coordinate internal and external projects, undertake research and write submissions, provide strategic analysis and policy advice and liaise with stakeholders both within and external to the University to exchange information, and proactively communicate and negotiate on behalf of the Deputy Vice Chancellor.
Skills and Experience
To be successful, you will be a critical thinker with a proven ability to research, conceptualise and analyse information. Highly developed oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to provide strategic, insightful and innovative advice to senior leaders. You will also be a skilled negotiator with a mature outlook and be able to build and sustain stakeholder networks.
