The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic) drives the achievement of the University's strategic goals in relation to learning and teaching. This includes ensuring that students have a quality experience and investing in the ongoing professional development of academic staff.

The division is comprised of four key portfolio areas led by: the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Learning); Pro Vice-Chancellor (International); Dean, Indigenous Education; and the Executive Director, Division of the DVC&VP(A).

The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Learning) portfolio area provides direction and leadership to ensure the University maintains education excellence and delivers a high-quality learning experience for each student. There is particular focus on quality assurance in learning and teaching and providing academic support for staff and students.

This role is working as part of the Learning Technologies Team. This team is part of the Division of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice President (Academic), which provides leadership in achieving the University's strategic goals, particularly in relation to learning and teaching. The Learning Technologies Team within are currently delivering a significant learning and teaching and technological change to the University under a program of works to implement a new Learning Management System (Canvas), new lecture recording and active learning application (Echo360 Active Learning Platform). The Learning Technologies Team provides learning and teaching services and support to the University of Adelaide community of over 25,000 students and 3500 staff members.

The Communications Officer - MyUni Transform will work under general direction from the Change Manager - MyUni Transform and is responsible for design, development and delivery of various communication and engagement activities and tasks within the scope of the MyUni Transform project, including targeted communications, project newsletter and updates, website content management, timely reporting of feedback and event preparation and support. Responsibilities extend to social media engagement, and advising on appropriate communications style and tone for online content. This role will work closely with a number of teams within the MyUni Transform project and with other key stakeholders and service units to deliver the required internal communications.

Salary: (HEO6) $73,122 - $79,173 per annum.

Superannuation: An employer contribution of 9.5% may apply.

Term of position: This fixed-term contract is available immediately for 12 months.

Position requirements


  • Demonstrated experience in writing and editing website content, articles and publications
  • Sound working knowledge of HTML, Content Management Systems and social media platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to write, edit and present complex material for a variety of audiences, with an outstanding attention to detail
  • High level of computer literacy and competence in a range of software applications, including MS Office suite
  • Demonstrated exceptional written communication skills with the ability to write for the digital / Learning / IT environment


  • Demonstrated experience as a writer in higher education business / learning and teaching content
