Assistant Professor in Communication Studies
Communication Studies focuses on how people use messages to generate meanings within and across various contexts, cultures, channels, and media. The study of communication leads to personal development, career success, and responsible citizenship.
The Department of Communication Studies at Colorado State University seeks an entry-level assistant professor who specializes in interpersonal communication and uses quantitative research methods. This is an entry-level, tenure-track, nine-month appointment which starts August 16, 2017.
The Department of Communication Studies at Colorado State University currently numbers over 700 undergraduate majors, 24 Master’s candidate, will enroll its first Ph.D. cohort in 2017, houses the Colorado State University Center for Public Deliberation (www.cpd.colostate.edu), and hosts the Act Human Rights Film Festival (actfilmest.org). Required Job Qualifications
1. PhD in Communication Studies or related field by appointment date.
2. Specialty in interpersonal communication.
3. Expertise in quantitative methods of studying communication
Preferred Job Qualifications
1. Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence.
2. Demonstrated potential for excellence in quantitative, grant-funded research and publication.
3. Ph.D. in hand.
4. Demonstrated experience in teaching/scholarship in Communications, following the liberal arts tradition.
