Professor of Global Health
The Department of Global Health and Population at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health invites applications from distinguished scholars for a tenured faculty position as professor of global health.
The department seeks candidates to conduct research on maternal and child health along the continuum of care. Discovery or translational research may address health through the lifecycle, including adolescence, pregnancy and childbirth and reproductive health, the neonatal period, and childhood. Critical areas of research may include vaccines and preventable infectious diseases, nutrition specific and sensitive interventions, non-communicable diseases, and integrated approaches to improvement of maternal health and child health and development. The successful candidate will be expected to lead an independent research agenda in line with departmental priorities and to play a central role in the department’s master’s and doctoral programs. Overseas travel for fieldwork is envisaged.

Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in maternal and child health, epidemiology, global health or related public health discipline, with a demonstrated expertise and interest in conducting quantitative or mixed methods studies. Candidates with a medical degree and relevant experience will also be considered.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, and intellectual leadership, and a strong record of externally funded research. Prior field research in developing country settings is highly desirable.
