Assistant Professor in Art Education
The Boston University School of Visual Arts seeks an art educator to join its Art Education department. The ideal candidate would have an academic background in the principles and practices of Art Education as well as leadership experience in community engagement, arts-based programming and/or social practice. Strong artistic practice including familiarity with a variety of traditional studio materials and experience with PreK-12 school art teaching are essential. The successful candidate would teach both online and on-campus courses. In addition to teaching, other responsibilities include student admission reviews and advisement, scheduled activities for Art Education students and faculty, institutional governance, and committee service. On campus responsibilities involve teaching, supervising student teachers and participating in the development of courses that expand and enrich the field of Art Education in such areas as community-based art education, social practices, and museum education.
