Assistant Professor in French Language
Duties & Responsibilities  
The Department of Humanities invites applications for an Assistant Professor level position in French.

Duties & Responsibilities : 
Teaching undergraduate French courses, coordinating the new French Minor courses, advising student, serving on departmental, College and University committees, and contributing to the research profile of the College through high-quality research publications.
Ph.D. in one of the following areas: French linguistics, or French and Francophone literature and culture; applied linguistics or second language education or related field by the time of appointment.

Candidates must be native speakers of French and show evidence of excellent teaching skills and at least five years of University-level French teaching. They must have solid experience in the field of Second/Foreign Language Acquisition and experience in the following:

a. Language program administration,

b. Curriculum development and assessment,

c. Culturally appropriate teaching material design,

d. The use of technology in teaching French, and

e. Student supervision and student advising.

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a promising research program related to French learning and teaching, language acquisition and teaching in a multilingual context, with publications in international, peer-refereed journals.

1.    A three-year renewable contract.
