Join us as Lecturer in Applied Social Sciences, with a specialism in Social Work, and you will discover a wonderful intellectual and social environment in which to make a career. Here, you will explore the frontiers of knowledge.

Our department has a longstanding reputation for postgraduate teaching and research in social work. We benefit from vibrant partnerships with service users, carers, local authorities and voluntary organisations, all of which inform the development of innovative projects. We are known for producing strong critical practitioners, and you will have a key role to play. You will be responsible for delivering modules in the area of Social Work on our professional postgraduate programme. Crucially, you will also generate funding and pursue research of international excellence and impact.

To join us, you will need a first degree and PhD with subject expertise in a relevant discipline, together with a professional award in Social Work. We will also expect you to be registered with an appropriate professional body. As well as proven experience of supervision and teaching, you will bring to the role an emerging track record of high-quality publications in peer-reviewed journals. You are ready to develop your profile and publish at high levels of intellectual significance.

If you are an outstanding, enterprising, intellectually curious academic with ambition and a strong sense of collegiality, please do consider applying to Durham University.
