University of Newcastle

The University of Newcastle is seeking an outstanding and transformative leader as the next Pro Vice-Chancellor of its Faculty of Business and Law.  Committed to the University’s bold vision of creating a better future for its regions through a focus on innovation and impact, the new Pro-Vice Chancellor will position the Faculty to reap the benefits of the changes taking place nationally and globally in education, business and society.

In 2017 the Faculty moves into its own purpose-built, cutting-edge education and research precinct.  This provides the back-drop for delivering quality future-focussed education programs that are valued by students and employers alike, as well as participating in productive research partnerships and collaborations that are centred on solving the world’s greatest challenges.

As a key member of the University’s Executive, reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor and President, this role also provides an opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction and policies of the University as well as of the Faculty.

With a record of achievement in either senior business or academic leadership, the successful candidate will have demonstrated their capacity to provide strategic direction in a dynamic environment, deliver innovative solutions and inspire staff through a common sense of purpose and a quest for excellence. Essential attributes are an international outlook and the capacity to engage broadly with partners across business, government and academia.
