The IT Directorate at UNE is responsible for the management, security and support for all IT-related activities across the entire University including management of information systems and associated databases, support for desktop computing specialised software, central servers, data, voice and video networks, web development, standards and technical.

About the role
UNE is seeking to appoint an Associate Director (Security and Governance) to provide vision and leadership for the development and implementation of the University’s ICT security and governance. Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the Associate Director will lead a small team of highly-specialised staff, to assess risks and threats in order to establish and maintain an enterprise security stance through the development of protocols, policy, architecture and training.

This position is a member of the IT Management team that is responsible for the preparation, management and allocation of directorate budgets as well as contributing to the development of the IT
strategy and continuous improvements. This position will operate with a high degree of independence and autonomy.

To be considered for this position you will have extensive knowledge and understanding of current IT Security and Governance trends and significant experience in delivering IT services and projects within a complex environment. Additionally you will have excellent leadership, communications and negotiations skills, as well as experience in the supervision and management of human, financial and material resources.
