With a growing international reputation, 18% of our current 2,300 students are from Europe and other non-EU countries. We pride ourselves on teaching and research excellence in nearly 30 UG and PG degree programmes across the engineering and physical science, computing and IT, and creative technology subject areas. To build on the success, we are now looking for an outstanding individual to join the School Leadership Team and help take our international work to a new height.
As the Assistant Dean (International), you will, in consultation with the Dean, provide leadership, strategic and operational management in relation to all aspects of the School’s internationalisation work including planning, student recruitment, institutional partnership and TNE, student support, curriculum internationalisation and budget control. You will be responsible for leading on the enhancement, development and implementation of the School’s internationalisation plan, working with colleagues within the School and across the University as well as external organisations to increase student recruitment, develop new TNE partnerships, enhance staff and student outward mobility and grow international research collaboration. You are expected to have had significant leadership and managerial experience in the UK HE sector and an advanced understanding of the international student recruitment market as well as the business and commercial practice. Being a leader, a coordinator as well as a team player at the same time, you are an excellent communicator, negotiator and motivator with demonstrably substantial experience of successful development, management and operation of relevant international collaborative and TNE degree programmes in targeted global markets.
You will have a strong track record to augment our team, and will exhibit an entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset to enhance the impact of your work. You should be qualified in a subject relevant to the Division’s activities, normally at Doctoral level. It would also be preferable to have Senior HEA Fellowship or other professional qualification/ membership that reflects your standing in the community. A Professorial appointment is possible for suitable candidates.
The successful candidate will be based at our Paisley Campus with some scheduled activities at our other campus locations. Scotland boasts some of the most stunning countryside and coastline for outdoor and family life. We are close to Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, with its rich heritage and vibrant cultural life, and just minutes from the International airport.
