Within the School of Business and Enterprise, the vibrant Enterprise Academy is pivotal to achieving the ambitions of the School by creating unique research-driven enterprise and entrepreneurial opportunities in partnership with business leaders, industrial networks and pioneering educators.  This combination also ensures that our graduates have the creative confidence, relevant knowledge and enterprise skillsets that are necessary for successful graduate employment.  We also have close links with both UK based and international enterprise partners and seek to further develop these collaborations.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in both leading research teams and in developing and leading on the delivery of substantial commercial enterprise activities. The Professor of Enterprise and Entrepreneurial Development post-holder will have a significant track record of publishing internationally excellent and world leading research outputs, which are underpinned by substantial successful external funding. There will be an emphasis on leading multi-disciplinary teams, an openness to apply skills and knowledge to commercial applications and to engage with external organisations, significantly contributing and leading the school towards our next REF submission in 2020. We also expect the successful candidate to share our passion for enterprise education and a desire to make a real difference to our stakeholders, both within the UK and with our international partners. In line with UWS research ambitions, the post holder would be expected to mentor and contribute to the development of early careers researchers. The University of the West of Scotland offers and promotes a multi-disciplinary academic environment and the successful candidate will embrace the opportunity to work across different disciplines.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to make a major strategic research and enterprise leadership contribution at UWS as we continue on our dynamic journey of transformation.
