Our taught programmes are engaged with practice with scores reaching 100% NSS satisfaction in many programmes.  The School’s research is organised into a close community of industry-focused inter-disciplinary research groups in areas of composite materials, advanced concrete and energy & renewables we have a growing international reputation.  We are launching a set of new post-graduate programmes over the next two academic sessions to build on these successes.

We are looking to appoint outstanding future academics who can add to our profile. You will demonstrate a commitment to high quality, innovative teaching with a global outlook. You will augment our commercial and / or research activities, and will exhibit an entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset to enhance the impact of your work.

You should be qualified in a Mechanical/Structural/Civil related degree, preferably at Doctoral level. It would also be preferable to be a chartered engineer.  Relevant experience in one or more of the fields of Mechanics of Materials, Advanced Concrete Materials or Structural Analysis, is an essential requirement of the post. In addition, some experience in current practices and methods associated with these areas would be beneficial.

The successful candidate will be based at our Paisley Campus with some scheduled activities at our other campus locations. The West of Scotland boasts some of the most stunning countryside and coastline for outdoor and family life. We are close to Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, with its rich heritage and vibrant cultural life, and just minutes from the International airport.
