University College Cork wishes to appoint an inspirational scholar of international standing to a Professorship within the School of Education in the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity for leadership in a vibrant community of active researchers, and full-time postgraduate masters and PhD students. One of the most well-established and research-active in the country, UCC’s School of Education is highly regarded for the quality of its courses, and the depth and standard of its scholarship.
Reporting to the Head of College, the Professor will be expected to provide leadership and support for the School’s research and teaching activities. The Professor appointed will be responsible, for a minimum of three/five years, for the headship of the School, and specifically for strategic leadership, including the development of staff, programmes and resources. The appointee will have an extensive track record of scholarship in the field of education and the capacity to provide strong academic leadership, as well as the skills to develop new initiatives for the promotion and co-ordination of teaching and research across the School. The College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences will provide dedicated supports to the Professor upon appointment.
Depending on the level of experience of the successful candidate, the appointment will be made at either:
Professor Salary Scale: €106,516 - €136,277 / Professor (Scale 2) Salary Scale: €90,671 - €105,738.
