Monash University, one of Australia's best universities, is seeking a senior leader to work with the Chief Marketing Officer in growing and enhancing a compelling and unique university brand, aligning the marketing strategy to the University's strategic goals. This is an exciting time to join the Marketing team, as the function is transforming and building new levels and quality of service; teams are building a full-service marketing model to internal clients including but not limited to, digital strategy, media service and crisis consulting, PR advice, creative design, brand agency services and market research and evaluation.

The Group Director shares with the Chief Marketing Officer the responsibility for developing and implementing the strategy and operational plan for the Marketing Division at the national and international levels. In this role you will manage the work of three directors to deliver on the operational plan, encouraging a collaborative culture focused on results. You will be responsible for partnering with business units with marketing responsibilities across the University to ensure integrated, effective solutions for clients and managing the budget of the division with associated financial and performance reporting requirements.

A strong background in marketing gained from hands on long term experience in developing marketing plans for diverse products in complex organisations is required. You will be an excellent leader with skills in managing budgets, leading teams and forming partnerships. With demonstrated capability to provide marketing advice and campaigns to business units in both the academic and corporate areas of Monash University, you will be able to easily engage with clients and suppliers to build a relevant and cohesive marketing agenda. A strong grasp of the marketing, communication and administrative opportunities created by the digital landscape with demonstrated capability to exploit these opportunities is essential. You will also require strength in analysing data to support evidence based decision making.

The position is based at Mulgrave in Melbourne's south east and attracts a remuneration package which reflects the seniority and importance of the role.
