The Opportunity

Are you an enthusiastic lecturer committed to creating a dynamic learning environment with a desire to contribute to the development and delivery of courses in Civil Engineering? If so, Monash University has just the role for you! We are seeking a dedicated researcher and communicator to fulfil the role of lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering.

In this position, you will conduct research and teaching of the highest international quality in a team of like-minded individuals. With support from the faculty you will attract funding to undertake research and recruit and supervise postgraduate students.  Additionally, you will contribute to research in a unique industry academia initiative, collaborating with the urban water group on research related to urban water infrastructure in the areas of green water treatment technologies, as well as socio-technical modelling.

You will also undertake academic duties such as developing teaching material, teaching large and small classes, supervising honours research projects and acting as an adviser for undergraduates.

The department is looking to build on existing research strengths particularly in the area of urban water systems. This includes experimental research in the areas of bio-filters, green walls and green rooves. The faculty is currently investing $5M into a new facility to support experimentally based research in this area.

To be successful in this role you will have a PhD qualification in Civil Engineering, Environment Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or a related field, with the ability to effectively develop and deliver teaching materials.

If you feel that you have the skills and experience to thrive in this role we encourage you to apply.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Your application must address the selection criteria. Please refer to "How to apply for Monash Jobs"
