The University of Salford is at a pivotal point in its development. We are shaping a completely refreshed ten year vision for success, creating four brand new ‘Industry Collaboration Zones’ to act as a physical focus for integrated working within the University and with partners in particular industry sectors. With a sustained focus on excellence through engagement we are revamping our approach to employability, enterprise, curriculum development and research; embedding these activities within the new zones to pioneer exceptional industry partnerships that will lead the way in real world experiences and prepare students for life in an increasingly global society.

We are ambitious to become one of the world’s most distinctive and
internationally-facing universities. Prioritising business development through
partnership, this brand new role will pull together our regional and international strategies, building on the significant groundwork undertaken to date. This includes the opening of offices in China, India and UAE; the licencing of a new campus in Bahrain; our agreement to open a tripartite International Medical School and the creation of an Academic Business Development Office. Reporting directly into the Vice-Chancellor, there is also a pivotal role to play in supporting our university-wide transformation agenda in creative and agile ways.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of delivering
high quality, sustainable international partnerships, as well as an in-depth
understanding of global opportunities that match the University’s strengths and our ICZ agenda. A superb strategist and first-rate communicator, they will also possess the necessary ambassadorial skills to maximise our regional opportunities, particularly in the context of DevoManc, Northern Powerhouse, knowledge exchange/industry collaboration and degree apprenticeships.
