The Department of Human Development and Family Studies is one of eight academic programs in the College of Health and Human Sciences. Colorado State University is Colorado’s land grant institution and holds the Doctoral/Research University – Extensive classification from the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education. Affiliated with CSU’s Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Program and the Center for Family and Couple Therapy (CFCT) in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, the newly formed Child Trauma and Resilience Assessment Center (CTRAC) serves as a local, state, and regional child trauma assessment center.

Position Summary

Trauma Informed Care is a new national movement in how individuals with trauma are treated. CTRAC conducts assessments using a proven multidisciplinary assessment model and is only 1 of 2 centers in Larimer County that conducts high-level trauma assessments. The assessment model used at CTRAC has created interest from other agencies to want to learn how CSU conducts these assessments. This position will provide child trauma assessments while collecting assessment data for grant proposals. In addition the position will help train other clinicians on child trauma assessments and help lead state-wide implementation of these assessments.

Required Job Qualifications

Minimum master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) or related field; licensed or working towards licensure in MFT or related field.

Preferred Job Qualifications

Knowledge of and background in trauma-informed care; clinical experience working with children; experience conducting trauma assessments; strong writing skills; Approved Supervisor or Supervisor Candidate in American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT); strong team player; possess a working knowledge of systems theories.
