Established in 2008 the School of Rural Medicine at the University of New England (UNE), is committed to improve equity of access to health care in rural areas of Australia. The School is recognised for its innovative approaches to medical education, positioning itself as an international medical school in a rural setting. The School if responsible for delivering the Joint Medical Program (JMP), a partnership between Hunter New England Local Health District, Central Coast Local Health District, the University of Newcastle and the University of New England.

Expressions of Interest are invited for the position of Head of School of Rural Medicine. Reporting to the Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, the Head of School will lead the School and is responsible for all aspects of the School's operational management and strategic direction. The position provides leadership for the development and delivery of teaching and learning, research and entrepreneurial activities in the School.

Your previous experience in a senior leadership role, accompanied by your excellent management, relationship building and interpersonal skills will be highly regarded. In addition you will have a distinguished record of research publications, clinical experience and an outstanding academic background in Medicine.
