We’ve always broken new ground at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Now we need a pioneering Pro-Vice-Chancellor to take the lead on an ambitious growth strategy. In this high profile role, you will bring an innovative approach to boosting our research capabilities and enhancing our reputation internationally. We will look to you to play a pivotal role in delivering our £250m campus development programme. Under your leadership, Arts and Humanities at UEA will be renowned around the world as a beacon for research excellence and innovation.

Taking up your new post in July 2017, you will be the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of a Faculty that has pioneered the teaching of creative writing, film and TV studies, world art, and entrepreneurship. Today, we lead the way in UK academic research into creativity and the creative process. Your remit will span four Schools: Art, Media and American Studies; Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies; Literature, Drama and Creative Writing, and History, as well as the Interdisciplinary Institute for the Humanities and the Humanities Graduate School.

With interdisciplinarity as a founding theme, our creative and intellectual community aspires not just to do different, but to think different and be different. There are many successes on which you can build - from our extensive programme of events including two literary festivals, through to our impressive offer to students, which provides the opportunity to take at least one semester abroad, plus the chance to study a language free of charge.

Your journey to shape and grow the Faculty is sure to be full of challenges. Relishing every one, you will carve a path full of exciting and rewarding achievements - for students, for your staff and for yourself as a professional. To be equal to the opportunity, you will need to share our ambition and drive. A visionary leader, your creativity is matched with a flair for getting things done. Naturally, you will bring to the role an impressive academic record and research portfolio. It is your professional and collegiate approach that really sets you apart. You are persuasive, diplomatic and passionate about delivering excellence in research and learning.
