The Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences (EASS), which has around 7000 students & 400 staff, has a commitment to social innovation and embedded creativity.  With a focus on applied research, the Division produces graduates who are creative, innovative, and career-ready professionals.

The Dean: Academic is a core member of the executive team, and plays a central role in the decision making of the Division. The primary purpose of the role is to provide leadership in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and learning, with a particular focus on driving the digital agenda and transforming academic programs and international engagement.

Reporting to the Pro Vice Chancellor: Education, Arts and Social Sciences, other responsibilities include leading the student experience agenda; fostering industry partnerships and placements; and staff development and exchange programs.

The role calls for a flexible thinker with the ability to work on projects to embed practice-based innovation thinking into programs. The Dean will develop a culture of scholarship while leading digital transformation. They will possess strategic planning skills and a highly organised approach, supported by well-developed leadership skills which include the ability to influence and persuade.
