Research Assistant I/II in Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 531495)

We now invite applications for Research Assistant I/II to join Professor Junwen Wang’s research team to contribute to groundbreaking research in the field of artificial intelligence, bioinformatics and precision dentistry.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, implementation, and analysis of research projects focused on artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, precision dentistry/medicine and drug discovery;
  • Develop and maintain software tools, database and web applications;
  • Conduct literature reviews and summarize findings related to AI and large language models and their applications to above mentioned fields;
  • Prepare research reports, presentations, and manuscripts for publication; and
  • Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and other team members on various projects.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree, preferably in bioinformatics, data science, software engineering, computer science or a related discipline;
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R, or Java);
  • Experience in artificial intelligence, preferably in large language models; multi-omics data integration, particularly with single cell sequencing data; and AI for drug discovery (small molecule, peptide and antibody), are preferred;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

What We Offer

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
