About the Role

Working closely with the Library Coordinator (Education Engagement), The Library Coordinator (Researcher Engagement) will oversee the services of the library for researchers and Higher Degree Research (HDR) students. The role is responsible for the operational management and provision of advisory services to support data management, metrics, citation impact, and engagement to optimise research scholarly impact, as well as maximise the opportunities of new technologies and tools in a changing higher education research environment, including Generative AI.

This role is also responsible for:

  • Providing oversight of the quality, accuracy and consistency of research advisory content relating to library resources.
  • Working with Digital Library Coordinator and Content Strategy Lead to proactively monitor and evaluate products and tools that provide specialist services for researchers and explore new technologies related to scholarly publishing and the management of research information and outputs.
  • With guidance from a senior team member, developing and maintaining appropriate performance measures, and provide specialist advice and reports to management.
  • Encouragement and nurturing an environment of trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort.

About you

Your exceptional organisational, time management skills and initiative, enable you to effectively and efficiently lead a multidisciplinary team in a complex environment.  Working collaboratively with your team, you prioritise tasks, ensuring objectives are successfully met and resources are available.

With exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, you can build and maintain effective relationships with clients inclusive of negotiation. Your excellent administrative skills enable you to develop reports and project documentation.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Postgraduate degree from a higher education institution in library and information science or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
  • High-level organisation and administrative skills and the capacity and capability to coordinate disparate role groups across campuses through collegial work practices.
  • The Ability to apply critical thinking and data analysis to make informed recommendations regarding services, and to take responsibility for achieving outcomes.
  • An understanding of generative AI and their applications in research.
  • Eligibility for Associate (professional) membership of ALIA (desirable)
