Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

The name Kauvaiora literally means "living river of water", a name referring to a person who acts as a source of knowledge, expertise, and connection to the Library.

We are seeking a collaborative, proactive, and adaptable individual to join our Library team who will focus on the following:

  • Engage with Pacific learners to ensure their voices are heard
  • Foster understanding among library staff on how to best deliver culturally responsive and meaningful library services for Pacific people
  • Work on initiatives to enhance the Pacific experience across library services
  • Help create an environment for inspiration, curiosity, and a sense of safety and belonging for Pacific communities

The ultimate goal of this work is to enhance the Library's reputation as a trusted partner with our Pacific communities. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the experience and success of Pacific communities within the University.

This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week) based at our Hillcrest campus. We encourage applications from candidates seeking a full-time position or those able to work between 0.6 and 1.0 FTE. The full-time salary range is $69,199 to $82,228 prorated per year, depending on skills, knowledge, and experience. While there is an expectation for staff to be onsite at certain times, the Library supports flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

For more information on the role, please see the position description. For a confidential conversation about the role, please contact Candra Pullon, Head of Library Engagement and Experience, candra.pullon@waikato.ac.nz. All applications must be submitted through the online portal; emailed applications will not be accepted.
