About us

The International School for Government (ISfG) is a transformative initiative for King’s, as set out in King’s Strategic Vision 2029. Since its formation, the scale and scope of the initiative has developed in two important ways. First, the benefits of strategic connection to the Policy Institute, as part of the faculty of Social Sciences and Public Policy, became clear as the skills and focus of the schools are extremely complementary and each will strengthen the other. Second, while digital delivery remains a key aspect of our work, there is clearly demand and benefits in more blended approaches, with significant in-person provision, that takes advantage of our central London location.

The International School for Government (ISfG) is designed to equip policymakers and civil servants from across the globe to meet the challenges of the future, creating leaders capable of delivering the services that citizens expect today. Through education, research and public engagement, the ISfG focuses on the most pressing policy problems, ensuring that policy professionals are prepared with both the hard and soft skills necessary to understand how power, influence and change move through political circles.

About the role

The Senior Programmes Officer works as part of a team to ensure consistent support and delivery of ISfG’ s online and blended taught provision providing high quality logistical administrative support.

The SPO will be responsible for delivering outstanding customer experience to relevant stakeholders throughout the student lifecycle from pre-enrolment activities through to graduation and beyond. Many of the students on the in-person and online programmes are in their early to mid-careers and, therefore, it is important a proactive approach to communicating with students is taken to ensure a positive student experience.

The role holder will be resolving complex day-to-day issues, responding in line with university Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for the online programmes. They will represent the ISfG externally with students and clients and internally through wider university activities and committees, supporting the School’s interests at all times.

The role is full time (35hours p/w) and will be offered as a fixed term  contract for 18 months from start date.
