Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Join us in supporting the growth and success of the University by providing high-quality coordination across our academic strategy, initiatives, and projects. As the Academic Strategy Manager, your focus will be maintaining a comprehensive overview of key activities, ensuring alignment and connectivity across various departments and workstreams.

You will work closely with department leaders, providing regular updates to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic (DVCA), senior leaders, stakeholders, and relevant committees. Additionally, you will manage key projects within the Academic Office, as well as those initiated by the DVCA.

To succeed in this role, you'll build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, develop a deep understanding of the workstreams within the DVCA's portfolio, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences. You'll use your initiative to identify opportunities and challenges and will play a role in problem-solving and strategic planning.

Salary will be in the range of $96,956 to $107,177 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based on our Hillcrest Campus.

The Academic Office oversees academic governance of the University through the structures, processes and information that relates to academic programmes and student-facing regulations. This includes the following areas: academic strategy and planning, new programme development, academic agreements and pathways, academic quality, paper information, committee servicing, the University Calendar, the academic model within the Student Management System, complaints, and student discipline.
