Massey University invites applications for an exciting Postdoctoral Fellow position at the globally renowned Riddet Institute, a leader in food and nutritional science research. The Institute integrates partner organisations (Massey University (host), Auckland and Otago Universities, AgResearch and Plant and Food Research) and disciplines, leading a 'NZ Inc' approach to food research, and generates knowledge and capability that transforms the global food sector.

In this role, you will work on a Riddet Institute Centre of Research Excellence funded project, contributing to cutting-edge research focused on food protein science and its applications, particularly in the analysis and functionality of food proteins.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and contribute to high-quality research on food protein functionality, particularly in dairy science and food formulations
  • Publish in leading international journals and present at global conferences, solidifying your standing in the global food science community
  • Work on interdisciplinary projects that generate new knowledge, intellectual property, and innovative solutions for the food sector
  • Mentor postgraduate students, guiding the next generation of food science leaders

Qualifications:

  • PhD in food science, technology, engineering, chemistry, or related disciplines
  • Experience: Experience in food protein functionality, food product development, and protein analysis
  • Capabilities: Strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, and exceptional time management
  • Technical expertise: Proficiency in writing research papers, analyzing data, and a creative problem-solving approach
