Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer (holding the functional title of Project Manager) in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.: 531354), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Mental Health, Public Health, or other related disciplines, with at least 8 years of project management and/or supervision experience in family or healthcare research studies and services. They should have a high proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese (including Cantonese) and good communication skills. They should have the ability to work independently and in a team, be self-motivated, and be familiar with evidence-based services in health and mental health settings. They will be required to work on irregular working hours occasionally or when required.
The appointee will be responsible for leading practice-based research projects on mental health of various types of clienteles. Duties include developing evidence-based research and practice; liaising with different stakeholders such as funders, NGOs, and other institutions; conducting professional training and community education on mental health and psychosocial intervention; conducting group interventions; designing and implementing project evaluation and other duties as assigned.
