- Four full time positions, fixed-term for 3 years (2 positions will be in anatomy and 2 in medical sciences)

- Base Salary starting from (level A) $109,301 to (level B) 122,830 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The School of Medical Sciences is recognised as one of the leading centres for medical science education in the world. With over 100 years of excellence in education, we are proud to be training the next generation of medical scientists who will be leading members of the medical research community with an innovative integrated curriculum. Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas.
We are seeking to appoint four Lecturers (Education Focused) to deliver teaching in either Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology and/or Histology who will apply their learnings through research and scholarly activity to inform their education practice. They will make significant contributions to teaching and learning practice, and design and evaluation and will be on a trajectory towards leadership in educational design and delivery. They will dedicate much of their contribution to teaching (between 70-80%), which will be delivered face to face at our schools in Camperdown, Westmead and Dubbo.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- undertake independent teaching in core disciplines of anatomy, physiology, histology and pathology, contributing to outstanding educational design, delivery, evaluation and outcomes
- engages in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the University's expectations and standards for education
- designs, coordinates and delivers quality educational units of study and experiences that support student needs and meet curriculum requirements
- contribute to the design and delivery of multi-disciplinary work-integrated learning units and content
- engage in supervision of research students at undergraduate level, in accordance with the requirements and expectations of the School/ Faculty/ University
- provide face to face teaching in Camperdown, Westmead and Dubbo as required
- undertake other duties appropriate within the classification level as required.
About you
- doctorate or PhD in a relevant field
- a developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders
- demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives
- experience in conducting original research and/or engaging in scholarly activity
- experience in teaching and learning, as evidenced by participation in team teaching and teaching in a variety of settings
- ability to communicate effectively.
