About the Role 

We are seeking an Associate Professor to join our Department of Allied Health as the Discipline Lead in Occupational Therapy, to lead and enhance the quality of education and research at Swinburne, and drive growth and contribute to future opportunities for program expansion.

As the Discipline Lead, you will contribute to the leadership, development and review of the Master of Occupational Therapy course using blended models of unit delivery; participate in the administration and ongoing curriculum development of units offered by the discipline; and progress research and scholarship aligned to the strategic direction of the school.

With a passion for teaching, leading, and innovating, you will lead a team of OT academics and will be expected to carry out educational and curriculum development of learning materials and assessments in OT, and facilitate the overall coordination of units, including teaching and marking assessments.

This position will also be expected to lead and contribute to research activities in the School of Health Sciences in Occupational Therapy, health services and/or pedagogy and will carry out appropriate activities that will maintain and develop your scholarly, research and/or professional expertise.

About You  

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

• Demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching including a record of co-ordination, teaching and curriculum development and teaching in Occupational Therapy education.
• Experience with online learning and teaching methods in Occupational Therapy education including creation or use of leading edge/best practice delivery methods such as flexible delivery formats.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in Occupational Therapy or health care.
• A high degree of organisational and administrative skills and capacity to lead the management of course and program delivery, and a team of OT academics.
• Demonstrated capacity to build and lead research teams and partnerships and in practice research supervision to achieve high impact research outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate qualification appropriate to the discipline.
• AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
