About the role:
We are looking to recruit to our team a Campus Operation's Team Leader and play a vital role in leading and supporting a dedicated team of Facilities Assistants. By embodying our Fit for King’s values and fostering a high-performance culture, you will ensure the delivery of world-class services for our esteemed university.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating Facilities Management Services, optimizing workload distribution, and driving continual improvement in postal services and deliveries. You will lead by example, promoting a customer-focused team culture, and conduct team meetings to set clear performance objectives.
Additionally, you will develop strong relationships with team members and collaborate with colleagues to provide a world class facilities management service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading by example to foster a friendly and inclusive team culture - Managing staff absence and performance in compliance with HR policies
- Rota management - Conducting team meetings, setting performance objectives, and sharing best practices
- Managing workload distribution and promoting a fair split of work
- Upholding the directorate's customer service programme and promoting a high standard of service delivery
- Developing strong relationships with team members and E & F colleagues
- Managing post room facilities and driving efficiencies through process improvement
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and facilitating staff training in compliance modules
- Managing event and classroom setups to support the university's operational needs

About You:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
- Computer literate, with knowledge of all Microsoft operating systems, Word, Excel etc.
- Staff management experience
- Calm demeanour, un-flustered and maintain a cool head in high stress/pressure situations
- Knowledge of Health and Safety. Preferably with a H&S qualification, such as IOSH/NEBOSH.
- Professional and positive approach to work
- Self-motivated and good organiser, with a meticulous eye for detail
- Experience in scheduling, co-ordination, planning and prioritisation of own workload and that of others
Desirable criteria
- Experience of event management & dealing with VIP’s
- Familiarity with working in the Higher Education Sector
