Your personal sphere of influence:

The Institute for Religious Education is a sub-unit of the Faculty of Protestant Theology. The vacant position as university assistant (praedoc) serves to strengthen our teaching and research portfolio. We are looking for Protestant theologians with a special interest in working on research questions in religious education.

We are a research-active institute, emphasise an inspiring working atmosphere and offer a flexible working environment.
The duration of the contract is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to a total of 4 years if the employer does not submit a declaration of non-renewal within the first 12 months.

Your future tasks:

You will play an active role in the research, teaching and administration of the Institute, i.e:

  • You will be involved in research projects and publications in Religious Education.
  • You will work on and complete your dissertation in Religious Education. We expect you to complete your dissertation agreement within 6-12 months.
  • You will participate in doctoral seminars at the Institute.
  • You will teach independent courses in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement.

This is part of your personality:

  • Completed Master's degree in Protestant Theology or a corresponding teaching degree (the degree certificate must be available by the date of employment at the latest)
  • A keen interest in religious education, a willingness to attend and organize national and international conferences and to work in a team, and good IT user skills
  • A strong interest in interdisciplinary exchange with neighboring disciplines
  • You have a research interest in Protestant schools and plurality-related religious education challenges
  • You have experience or are interested in empirical research approaches.
