NMIS are seeking to appoint 4 Senior Technicians to join the Digital Factory to lead a team of technicians within each of the following NMIS workshop themed areas:
- CNC Machining 4.0 & Composites
- WAAM / DED & Robotics
- Laser Based and Polymer AM
- K-Block Multi-Machine Capability
Reporting to the NMIS workshop manager the post-holders will take responsibility for overall project delivery, technician resource and Health & Safety ISO 45001 standards within the individual workshop cells. The post holders will also be responsible for overseeing the work of contractors while based within the workshop and will also be responsible for ensuring that IOS 9001 Quality Assurance procedures are enforced – including 5s practices. In addition, the post holder, collaborating with Team Leaders and ME’s / Researchers will have responsibility to undertake appropriate resource and capacity planning across all activities planned within the workshop to meet project milestones and deadlines.
To be considered for this role you will be educated to HNC/HND level in a relevant subject or equivalent industry experience. You will have significant knowledge and expertise in forging and forming using industrial equipment, supervising teams, and maintaining Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures. Essential skills include developing operational procedures, planned maintenance (PPM), and managing budgets for workshop equipment. You will have the ability to deliver against technical specifications and work independently, addressing complex challenges with minimal oversight.
