Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the Centre for Applied English Studies (Ref: 531076), to commence on September 1, 2025, on a two-year fixed-term basis.
Applicants should have a recognized Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics or T.E.F.L. and at least 5 years’ full-time experience in teaching EAP or EFL to post-secondary students. The appointee will be able to demonstrate an ability to: (a) meet the needs of students through their teaching, as evidenced by positive student feedback; (b) teach across a range of courses; (c) produce, evaluate and revise innovative teaching and learning materials; (d) work on meeting self-identified professional development goals; and (e) actively contribute to teaching development projects.
The Centre is specifically looking for candidates who can bring experience related to (i) academic literacy teaching and materials development for undergraduate students, (ii) out- of-class communication support and materials development in three strands e.g. writing, speaking, and digital literacy, and (iii) blended-learning teaching and materials development. Experience of digital literacy pedagogy for undergraduate students would also be highly valued.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary.
