About the Role
Do you have a drive to innovate and inspire the next generation of health professionals? Swinburne University is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Lecturer in Dietetics to join our School of Health Sciences.
As a Lecturer in Dietetics, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality and delivery of nutrition and dietetic education and research at Swinburne. You will work collaboratively with the Discipline Lead, Course Director, and academic colleagues to develop and review Allied Health courses, using blended models of unit delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and delivering engaging tutorials, lectures, and seminars.
- Developing and assessing course materials and providing constructive feedback to students.
- Guiding students during professional practice placements and ensuring a high-quality learning experience.
- Conducting practice-based research and contributing to the preparation of refereed journal publications and conference papers.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the development and delivery of education and research.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Strong knowledge of clinical dietetics, nutrition assessment, and medical nutrition therapy.
- A high degree of organisational and administrative skills and capacity to contribute to management of course and program delivery.
- Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal and communication skills including resourcefulness, initiative, and the ability to meet tight deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Experience with online learning and teaching methods in nutrition and dietetic education including creation or use of leading edge/best practice delivery methods such as flexible delivery formats.
Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent extensive experience in clinical dietetics.
- Current Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) status.
