Director of Financial Planning & Analysis

We are seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to join the Finance & Procurement Directorate, a pivotal role that will shape the future of financial planning and analysis at King’s. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively across academic and professional services functions in a dynamic and inclusive university. King’s financial strategy focuses on fostering greater transparency, empowerment, and accountability, creating an environment where finance teams cultivate a culture of financial awareness, support opportunities for growth, and provide the resources required to enhance King’s service to society.
This is an important time for King’s College London as we embark on the next stage of our financial development, supporting a university with a growing financial profile that is approaching a £1.5bn turnover and generating a sustainable surplus for reinvestment in our strategic priorities. The Director of FP&A will play a central role in delivering a refreshed vision for the Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance department, establishing and embedding a collaborative and effective function that will strengthen King’s ability to deliver its ambitious goals.
We are looking for an experienced financial leader who has a track record of successfully supporting a financial planning and analysis function, delivering thoughtful solutions, and implementing them with care and precision. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders and work inclusively across diverse teams. You will bring a partnership-based approach to financial leadership, combining technical expertise with the ability to nurture, inspire, and develop a high-performing team.
