City St George’s, University of London is the University of business, practice and the professions and brings together the expertise and excellence of City, University of London and St George’s, University of London into one institution. The combined university is now one of the largest higher education destinations for London students, combining a breadth of disciplines across health, business, policy, law, creativity, communications, science and technology. Our students are at the heart of everything that we do, and we are committed to supporting them to pursue their career and personal ambitions.

Our research is engaged, at the frontier of practice and has a positive impact on the world around us.

Background

Bayes Business School (formerly Cass) is among the small group of business schools with an established reputation for excellence in both business research and education. Bayes holds the “triple-crown” accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). The school and its programmes are consistently ranked among the best in the world.

Bayes is not complacent about its achievements. On the contrary, we will be seeking to significantly develop our research and education and, critically, our engagement with practice. We are conscious that business schools are experiencing disruption in how research is undertaken and disseminated, how education is delivered and what is expected by business and society from a business school.

The faculty of finance at Bayes Business School, one of the largest finance groups in the UK, is home to world-leading academics with expertise in all key areas of finance. Bayes offers several finance and accounting focused degrees including Undergraduate, Postgraduate, PhD, MBA, and executive education.

Responsibilities

The Faculty of Finance seeks to recruit one full-time Teaching Fellow in Banking or Finance for a fixed tenure of one year from August 2025 to July 2026. By mutual agreement, fractional (e.g., 0.5) appointments might be feasible.

You must have completed or be close to completing (i.e. PhD awarded or PhD thesis submitted) a PhD in Finance/Banking or a related discipline, that has a strong element of training in research methods.
