Applications are sought for Ad Astra Fellow - Assistant Professor in Medical Physics within the College of Science.
The School of Physics, through its Centre for Physics in Health and Medicine (CPHM), has established a multi-disciplinary environment of researchers for the translation of fundamental physics understanding and emerging state-of-the-art technologies into health and clinical applications. Through its research and educational activities, the CPHM has raised the profile of the School, placing it at the forefront of Medical Physics in Ireland. The successful candidate will have a recognised international research profile as an emerging leader in the application of AI and other advanced analysis techniques in Medical Physics, as evidenced by publications, clinical development and funding success.
The appointee will be expected to undertake a research programme of international repute in the implementation of advanced analysis techniques in the areas of diagnostic imaging / nuclear medicine / radiation oncology physics. They will actively seek funding at national and international levels, show leadership in building their research group, publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, supervise research students in our MSc and PhD programmes, and establish collaborations with research groups in the School of Physics, UCD and beyond.
The appointee will coordinate and deliver elements of the School's undergraduate programmes and the MSc/PhD in Medical Physics, including classroom and laboratory teaching, project and group-work supervision.

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
