The role

The Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences’ (FEHHS) Marketing, Events and Communications Team is looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to the role of Senior Communications and Marketing Officer.

The main focus of the role is to undertake a wide range of communication and engagement activities to support the faculty, including the Institute for Lifecourse Development (ILD), in developing an outward facing profile so that its work is more visible to stakeholders and funders, and to improve student recruitment.

The role is expected to develop and implement an internal communications plan, which supports and complements the university’s communications plan.

You’ll also coordinate news items and stories related to the faculty, staff, and students, liaising with the Marketing and External Relations (MER) directorate, to promote both internally and externally.

In addition, you’ll provide support to the team for key annual student recruitment and marketing activities.

Your profile

We’re looking for someone with proven recent experience in a communications role as well as experience in project management. You’ll also need to have an understanding of internal and external communications.

You’ll need to have experience developing and delivering internal communications plans, planning and prioritising work in order to meet deadlines, digital and social media, analysing campaigns, events and other data, and proven ability to identify a story that has helped to convey why information being shared is important to the audience.

You should be someone who has excellent copywriting skills, a high attention to detail, and ensure your communications are relevant, accurate, well-written and meet objectives of the wider business.

Great problem solving and decision-making skills are crucial alongside accuracy and an eye for detail, as well as being willing to contribute to wider team goals.
