About the Role

Join the College of Medicine and Public Health’s Technical Services team as a Work Health and Safety Chemical Technical Assistant, where you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of WHS services and ensuring the safety of staff, students, and visitors.

In this vital position, you’ll focus on the safe storage, transport, and disposal of hazardous substances and dangerous goods, contributing to the ongoing health and safety of our community. Your expertise will help maintain a safe environment, promoting compliance and best practices across the College.

About You

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Completion of a diploma level qualification with relevant experience or certificate level qualification in Work Health & Safety with relevant/extensive work-related experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in WHS or Science related background
  • Experience in the handling and storage of hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods
  • Knowledge of Work Health & Safety (WHS) Legislation
  • Ability to take initiative and work in both team and autonomous environments
  • Experience in hazard management and providing WHS services.

About the College of Medicine and Public Health

About Flinders Health and Medical Research Building

At the beginning of 2022, construction commenced on the $255 million Flinders Health and Medical Research Building (FHMRB).
