Introduce:

The National Energy Storage Technology Industry-Education Integration Innovation Platform (hereinafter referred to as the “Energy Storage Platform”) was approved for establishment at the end of 2022 with the guidance and support of the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, and the Municipal Peoples Government of Chongqing. It was officially inaugurated on December 29, 2023.

In response to the major national strategic needs, the Energy Storage Platform leverages the resource endowments of Southwest China and the university’s key national disciplines such as Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics, Materials Science and Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Electrical Engineering and Automation. It brings together a full industry chain of energy storage technologies, ranging from resource extraction, metallurgy, materials, and energy utilization to power transmission and distribution. The platform relies on five national-level platforms, including the National Key Laboratory of High-End Equipment Casting Technology, the National Key Laboratory of Special Chemical Power Sources, the National Key Laboratory of Coal Mine Disaster Dynamics and Control, the National Key Laboratory of Power Transmission and Transformation Equipment Technology, and the National Magnesium Alloy Materials Engineering Research Center. It focuses on full-time, inherently safe, and large-scale energy storage on the source side, forming four major teaching and research teams in electrochemical energy storage, hydrogen storage, energy storage systems, and underground space energy storage. The platform is committed to addressing the current industry development challenges and technological bottlenecks in energy storage. It aims to tackle key core technologies in the energy storage field and develop an industrial ecosystem across four levels: materials and devices, large-scale energy storage technologies, energy storage safety, and energy storage system applications. This initiative offers a new paradigm for industry-education integration, collaborative talent cultivation, and technological innovation. The Energy Storage Platform is home to four Innovation Groups from the National Natural Science Foundation, four Innovation Teams in key areas from the Ministry of Science and Technology, three Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, two Foreign Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 18 national high-level talents, and 32 young national-level talents. It has acquired advanced equipment such as FIB-SEM, TOF-SIMS, and MicroCT to build innovative platforms, including in-situ and working-condition characterization platforms, small-scale experimental platforms for energy storage materials and devices, and training platforms. The platform plans to build experimental and office areas covering a total space of approximately 11,500 square meters. By targeting the frontiers of science and accelerating innovation, the platform strives to empower high-quality development in energy storage technology and contribute to the achievement of the “dual carbon” goals with “significant wisdom.”

  • Pre-tax annual salary of RMB 350,000-450,000, with additional performance-based rewards;
  • Appointment as a professor, with the qualification to supervise doctoral students;
  • The university provides RMB 1000,000-2000,000 for science and engineering as research start-up funds and related research platform funding;
  • The university provides a relocation allowance of RMB 500,000-600,000;
  • Assistance with schooling for children.

Hongshen Young Teacher Application Requirements: Candidates should be doctoral graduates from other universities who possess an excellent academic background and achievements, have produced high-quality research outcomes, and demonstrate significant potential for innovative development.

Benefits:

  • For the first 3 years, the pre-tax salary of RMB 250,000/year, with additional performance-based rewards. After passing the mid-term assessment, performance-based salary will be implemented according to the professional position standards.
  • Relocation allowance of RMB 200,000;
  • Research start-up funds of RMB 100,000 for science, engineering, and medical sciences;
  • During the appointment period, if the candidates are selected for the national postdoctoral innovative talent support plan, salary will be increased during the funding period.
  • Hongshen Young Teachers can independently choose to enter the postdoctoral mobile station. If they enter the postdoctoral mobile station and stay in Chongqing for work after completing the postdoctoral period, an additional subsidy of RMB 150,000 will be provided by the Chongqing municipal government.
